# Plot
You are Alchie, a maltreated servant of an evil Alchemist. Delve into his strange basement, slay his monstrous pets, and find a concocted solution to end him once and for all. Maybe you'll find the path to life everlasting?

# How To Play

Instructions can be found in game under "?" (SHIFT + /)

Throwing items at enemies is amusing. You can throw things by right clicking items in your inventory, then selecting 'throw', then clicking on a target.

# NB. PostJam "NoDiagonals" Version

I have uploaded a post jam version. Its only change is that it removes corridors that require diagonal movement from procedural generation. This is to support people without a keypad who might get stuck without diagonal movement keys.

# Spoiler for end boss beating recipe below (your time is precious)

End Boss Potion Spoiler:

Mix Orange Potion and Blue Potion, making a Harmonious Potion.

Mix Harmonious Potion with a Gold Potion to make an Effervescent Potion - throw it at the boss.

This was satisfying to beat, but a tad on the easy side. Every enemy I came across could be killed with normal attacks and as long as I waited between fights I never had to worry about my HP.

SPOILERS:

Overhearing the boss murmuring on the final floor was a clever and charming touch. I didn’t need to read the spoiler! I brewed up 10 boss potions in preparation for a big fight. I was genuinely surprised at what I was seeing when I threw that potion :)

Thank you very much <3

I agree. We never found the scaling sweet spot. We also erred on the side of easy due to the competition advice we could find, but it is too easy. Next time, I will prioritise enemy complexity and balance more.

pretty fun… but I got stuck once I found a required diagonal movement. I don’t have a numpad.

Ok that's good to know. Thank you for the feedback and I'll take that into account for next game!

For what it's worth Cody, I've now submitted a post jam variant that removes corridors requiring diagonal movement. I would be honoured if you would give it another crack.
